  • What should your child bring to school?

At the high school, students need to use an organizational system that works for them.  If they need help figuring out one, we can help.  The high school does not require a certain number of folders, binders, pen/pencils, etc. but ideas for supplies include:

a couple different colored pens for editing and taking notes

    No. 2 pencils

a pocket folder for each class

    erasers

spiral bound notebooks or loose paper in a binder for taking notes

a backpack that fits in the locker- these are not allowed to be carried to class

a combination lock for the gym locker (if necessary)

    a highlighter

index cards for making flash cards to study

A graphing calculator is highly recommended for all of our math classes since there will be a large amount of graphing, especially in the higher level math classes.  The TI-83 series, TI-84 series, and the TI-Nspire series of calculators are recommended and will serve your child well throughout their high school career and on standardized testing.  Other brands and models can work.  If you have questions or need advice, contact your child’s math teacher.
