Principal's Message

Hello Raider Families - 

My name is Jamie DeWitt and I have the pleasure of serving the community as the Principal of PHS. I've served in this role since the summer of 2020. In previous education roles, I worked with schools across the state, and the country. I can confidently state that the staff and students at Portland High School are one of the best. The dedication to community, eagerness to learn and share, and empathy towards others are evident in everything we do. 

Personally, I live just outside of Portland with my husband and three sons. We are also the foster family to the high school's facility dog, Pete. Our family likes sports, camping, boy scouts, gardening, and anything that gets us outside together. (Besides the cold... I do not care for the cold!) My sons all attend Portland schools and my husband proudly serves our country as a full-time soldier in the Michigan Army National Guard. 

As we move forward into the future, I look forward to building collaborative partnerships with families, students, and the community. If there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.
